A alternative way of doing your internship

The Genomics Student Lab is a research training lab by and for students, where the university is linked directly to non-academic entities in the life sciences sector.

Lab set-up

  • 10-15 students + 1 full-time supervisor + many ad-hoc UvA experts
  • Master, Bachelors and HBO students
  • The students jointly run the lab and their projects
  • Project topics often come from life sciences companies, non-academic institutes such as the RIVM

Internships

  • Students can start their training at the beginning of February each year (exceptions exist - inquire)
  • MSc internships: at least 5 months, BSc internships: at least 5 months
  • Possibility for: wet-lab (laboratory) internships, dry-lab (bioinformatics) internships or a combination of both
